Product design
Confidential
In just 8 weeks, I delivered a prototype that led to a successful raise, securing clients, and giving the build team a set off on the right foot.
High level
I was tasked with redesigning an initial proof of concept into a viable, market leading product. On the surface it seemed well thought out but upon closer inspection, opportunities for improvement were everywhere.
Design goals
Design a mobile experience to reduce organizational liability for highly sensitive communications
Create a highly polished, high-fidelity prototype using Figma in order to secure funding
Modify an existing design system for mobile use
The process
I reviewed all relevant documentation, articles, pitch decks, Miro boards, and sales assets to prepare. Organizing them in a separate Miro board as a repository for pre-work and design workshops throughout the project.
1st Workshop
Introduced our process, inputs, and outputs.
Established a refined product vision.
Gathered information to inform the user personas.
Captured the main high level user journey
2nd Workshop
Reviewed finalized outputs from the vision, persona, and journey exercises
Ran an exercise to storyboard the use case flow
Captured and aligned on prototype direction, demo-able use cases, and features
Results
We did it. The team secured funding for the next stage of development. We start hearing positive feedback from potential clients and across the firm. People are noticing what the strategy process did for a proof of concept that seemingly had everything figured out. Pretty soon, we were getting asked to show our work in front of the entire design team of over 100 designers. All in a day's work right?
I then helped onboard new team members and laid the foundation for responsive screen designs before turning my attention over to the next project.
